The Brazos Valley Symphony Presents 'Feminine Persuasion'

Music Director Marcelo Bussiki is proud to present acclaimed multiple GRAMMY® Award winner Sharon Isbin who has been hailed as "the pre-eminent guitarist of our time" and noted for her extraordinary lyricism, technique and versatility. She is also the winner of Guitar Player magazine's "Best Classical Guitarist" award, the Madrid Queen Sofia and Toronto Competitions, and was the first guitarist ever to win the Munich Competition. Ms. Isbin's catalogue of over 25 recordings-from Baroque, Spanish/Latin and 20th Century to crossover and jazz-fusion-reflects remarkable versatility. Ms. Isbin will be performing Ponce's Concierto del sur and the second movement of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. Amy Beach's Symphony No. 2, Op. 32, E Minor (Gaelic) will round out this evening honoring women in classical music.
